Calm Sea

The Adventure Awaits stamp set is full of super-large sentiments that are perfect for taking the spotlight on your cards.

I CASE'd this from Leanne Johnson for my February class.  I just loved that with several layers and 3 different DSP patterns the entire card comes across as very clean.

The DSP is the Maritime series, which is perfect for this sailing sentiment.  I enjoy the crisp Real Red-Whisper White-Night of Navy nautical tones, with the pop of Coastal Cabana.  The Circle and Starburst Framelits work like the stamp was designed for them - perfectly cutting and matting the image.

The Coastal Cabana button comes from the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack in the SAB brochure, and is threaded and tied with Whisper White Baker's Twine.

Embossed Dots

Earlier this month I showed you my first card made with embossing paste. Today I'll show you another way I used this fun stuff.

I used the dots of the Dots and Stripes Decorative Masks to create these large polka dots on a piece of Whisper White that was larger than my card front. Once they were dry I put the mask back on, and used a brayer to add Soft Sky and Daffodil Delight inks, starting on opposite corners. Where they met in the middle they blended to make green. I cut it down to 5.25" x 4" and added it to a Soft Sky card base.

I cut 2 of the middle sized Butterfly Framelits out of Pink Pirouette and White Vellum card stock. I adhered them together at the middle and added Soft Sky, Pink Pirouette and Wild Wasabi Candy Dots. Then I attached it to the card with Dimensionals. I stamped the sentiment from A Dozen Thoughts in Wild Wasabi on a flagged banner and popped it up too.

Last day for this week's Weekly Deals...there's three different punches and some great ribbon on sale!

Adventure Rocks

Have you checked out the cool photo-based DSP stack, Adventure Bound?  Lots of great images to play with.

I CASE'd this card from Brian King.  Brian used the new Washi Sheets from the Occasions Catalog to make the grid overlay on the left side of the center panel, but I took a tip from France Martin and used drywall tape colored with my Smoky Slate Blendabitlity!  Drywall tape (be sure to get the white version) comes already sticky on the back...just cut off a length, stick it on some scrap paper and color with the brush end of your Blendabilities.  Then add it where you want it and trim!

In this case I placed it on a strip of Vellum card stock, cut it to size and use the Project Life Corner Rounder Punch to round the corners to match my DSP and Basic Gray panels.

The "you" is cut from Crumb Cake card stock with Adhesive Sheet affixed to the back with the Hello You Thinlit Dies, and the "rock" is from the Crazy About You stamp set, stamped onto one of the Word Bubble Framelit Dies shapes.  The card base is Sahara Sand.

I think this card is suitable for just about anyone, don't you?
