How fun is this whimsical set??? I love this waterfall technique for cards that have multiple, related small images.
A gentle tug on the burlap ribbon at the bottom makes the panels cascade into view:
The background Crumb Cake panel is "stamped" with the Hexagons Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. I simply used my brayer to roll Basic Gray Archival ink on the embossing folder's raised side, put the piece of Crumb Cake card stock inside, closed it up and pressed and rubbed it thoroughly to transfer the ink. I think the results really resemble chicken wire!
The chicks were stamped in Archival Basic Black ink and colored with the Watercolor Pencils a Blender Pen. It is fun to create all kinds of color combinations with them! To make your own Waterfall Card, check out the excellent template from splitcoaststampers.com.

Sometimes the creative process is a very slow one. Don't be discouraged if you try and reject several options, or walk away from a project and come back to it later. The second card in this post took almost 2 months to come together!
In my January class we had fun coloring a panel of Watercolor Paper with the new Watercolor Pencils and blending them together with an AquaPainter. We then cut out the large dragonfly from the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits and used it on this card front:
The background was made with the Watercolor Wash background stamp and the Gorgeous Grunge set. Look carefully and you'll see we added a bit of bling. Unfortunately you can't see that we used clear Wink of Stella on the dragonfly for a subtle shimmer. I CASE'd the panel design from Valerie Gouget, a French demonstrator, and just tweaked a few details.
After class I kept looking at the remaining portion of the colored Watercolor Paper and thinking that I should be able to do something with all that pretty color.
You can see that the die with multiple little dragonflies didn't fit completely, but I discovered that I could cut it in 2 portions and piece it together:
Can you see where the 2 pieces are combined? You probably need to go back and look at where they were cut out of the sheet to figure it out.
So then I had the dragonflies, but didn't quite know how I wanted to use them on a card. They sat on my desk for a few months, and every once in a while I'd try a different panel or layout. Finally, I was inspired by several other demonstrators' projects and pulled this together:
The base and image panel are both Soft Sky, with a Whisper White mat. The speckles are from Gorgeous Grunge, and the sentiment is out of the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set that coordinates with the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits. Both are stamped in Archival Basic Black ink. Finally I swirled a tangle of Silver Metallic Thread behind the dragonflies before popping them up on Dimensionals.

Here's a quick-and-easy card I made the other week. Here in Arizona it's pretty common to see hot air balloons as the sun is rising or setting. Riding in one is on my bucket list...don't know if it will ever get checked off, so in the meantime, I'm enjoying this stamp set:
To make the background I used the new Watercolor Pencils and simply scribbled bands of color across the piece of Shimmery White card stock. Then I took a slightly wet AquaPainter and blended the color, keeping my motions side-to-side.
The balloons from Lift Me Up were stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink on Daffodil Delight and Watermelon Wonder card stock and cut out with the Up and Away coordinating Framelits. The clouds were also cut with this set, and lightly sponged with Basic Gray ink. The sentiment was stamped in Memento as well.
I framed the imaged panel on a mat of Basic Black, and then a layer of Basic Gray before mounting on a card base of Thick Whisper White.

This is the 5th card we made in my February class. Bokeh is a photography technique that creates a softly out-of-focus background with spots of light and color. It has been a trendy look for the last few years, and we've even used stamps and ink to make our own bokeh look on cards. For this one, however, we've got the beautiful Falling in Love Designer Series Paper that provides us with this effect.
The focal point is the large flower from the Stylish Stems Framelits cut into a Very Vanilla panel. The sentiment is from the coordinating Special Reason stamp set, inked up in Sweet Sugarplum and punched out with the Classic Label Punch. It's mounted on a strip of Blushing Bride card stock, and highlighted by a strand of Linen Thread tied below and trimmed close. A few Sweet Sugarplum sequins from the (retired) Fancy Frost Sequins finish it off. Thanks to Sarah Fleming for the design!
This card from my February class packs a lot of bang for a little effort, all thanks to the So Detailed Thinlit used to make the lacy embellishment. Paired with the classic and classy Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper, it makes a stunning card fit for almost any occasion. Some attendees made it as an anniversary card, others as a birthday card. The sentiments are from the So In Love stamp set, which conveniently enough is bundled with the So Detailed Thinlits to save you 10%! We used the Stitched Shapes and Layering Ovals Framelits to cut out the sentiment. The lace piece is attached with a little Tombow Liquid Glue along the white edge strip only...leaving the lace free adds even more dimension. Large Pearl Basic Jewels add the finishing touch.
