Bend Open Pocket Card

With some adaptations for “social distancing” protocols, I held my March Monthly Class on Saturday.  For those interested in the specifics of these adaptations I’ve included them at the end of this post.

This card is CASE’d from Rachel Tessman.  She’s got a video and measurements in inches on her site.  Here are my metric measurements:

Granny Apple Green: 29.7 x 10.5 cm (half an A4 sheet lengthwise)

scored at 6 cm and 14.9 cm.
Perennial Essence Vellum: (1) 10 x 8.5 cm and (2) 10 x 5.5 cm.
Whisper White: 10 x 8.5 cm plus more for stamping and die-cuts

I love everything about the size and design of the Happy Birthday To You stamp set and coordinating dies.  The ONLY way to get the stamp set is to place a qualifying order by the 31st of March…so don’t delay!

Here’s everything we used to make this card:

Social Distancing Adaptations
• 4 people attended. Each person received a bag with all of their card kits, a sheet of grid paper, a foam mat and a plastic basket with paper snips, bone folder, liquid glue, stamp shammy, Aqua-painter and paper towel. First thing they did was wipe everything in their basket with a disinfecting wipe.
• 5 card projects were set up at different stations at least 1.5 metres apart. Each station had disinfecting wipes and when they arrived at a new station they wiped down every hard object at the station, including the sheet of instructions in a plastic page protector.
• When they needed to use the Big Shot there were wipes there, too, and they went to it one at a time.
• I served afternoon tea, but it was a simple cuppa and an individual muffin/cake and not at a communal table.

Upcoming Classes

I am hitting the “Pause” button and taking some time to think about how to proceed with classes over the next few months.  Please keep watching this space for info on new class-in-the-mail and/or online offerings.
