Fancy Fold Tulips

Here's another card we made at my Timeless Tulips class:
Picture
I was inspired by Karen Watts' card, and used her picture to create my own template.
Picture
For my card I used Rococo Rose for the flowers and Old Olive for the leaves, stems, sentiment and card base.
Picture
For the inside images I stamped the tulip buds on a Post-It Note and cut them out to mask my stamped images before stamping the stems and leaves.

Here are my directions for making the layers:
  • Card base:  14.9 x 21 cm.
  • Score at 10.5 and 5.25 cm on the long edge.
  • Fold at 10.5 cm.
  • With the fold at the left, make a mark on the right edge 10 cm from the top.
  • Open the card and place the base diagonally on your paper trimmer with the top of the fold at 10.5 cm and the mark at 10 cm both on the cutting groove.  Trim off the top, right corner of the card.
  • Fold the card front closed and fold open on the 5.25 cm score.  You should have a diagonal z-fold.
The Whisper White strips are 4.7 cm wide.  I laid one over the front flap of the card and marked where the diagonal hit and cut it on the trimmer, then cut off 5 mm from the straight bottom of the small strip to have it fit the panel.  Then I flipped over the long strip and cut it to the correct length for the longer panel.

Hi Diane,

Thanks for your interest in my cards!

Here are my directions for making the layers in inches:
Card base: 8 ½" x 5 ½".
Score at 4 ¼" and 2 ⅛" on the long edge.
Fold at 4 ¼".
With the fold at the left, make a mark on the right edge 3 ½" from the top.
Open the card and place the base diagonally on your paper trimmer with the top of the fold at 4 ¼" and the mark at 3 ½" both on the cutting groove. Trim off the top, right corner of the card.
Fold the card front closed and fold open on the 5.25 cm score. You should have a diagonal z-fold.

The Whisper White strips are 2" wide. I laid one over the front flap of the card and marked where the diagonal hit and cut it on the trimmer, then cut off ⅛" from the straight bottom of the small strip to have it fit the panel. Then I flipped over the long strip and cut it to the correct length for the longer panel.
