How is this for a cheerful card? It was designed by Dena Rekow as part of a tutorial bundle. I just had to re-create it when I saw it.
To make the label behind the sunflower Dena used the Celebration Labels Dies, which I don't own. So I put on my thinking cap and came up with a solution. I used the largest of the Tasteful Labels Dies and cut it like this:
The Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine works by having the pressure of the plates as the material is rolled through. Do you see how the top plate isn't covering the entire die? It won't cut the part of the die that isn't covered.
did the same thing on the one to the right, cutting most, but not all the way through. Then I overlapped the die and placed the plate so it would cut only up to where I wanted and cut again. So I wound up with a double-label piece. Once I adhered it to the Bumblebee panel I trimmed off the excess.
Do you love that sunflower die as much as I do? We're going to use it in my October Monthly Card Class in a really fun way to make a rocker card! It's so fun I went ahead and extended the deadline to order the kit 1 day. Scroll down for more details on the class.
