This card, CASE'd from Lorri Heiling, uses a pretty quick-and-easy ombré technique on the sentiment from Botanicals For You, a FREE stamp set from Sale-A-Bration. First, ink the entire stamp with Pool Party ink. Then, move down an inch and ink with Soft Sky. Repeat, moving down an inch each time, with Bermuda Bay and Island Indigo. We found the biggest trick was to take a moment to clean the edges of the stamp before pressing onto the Whisper White panel.
Then we mounted a piece of Perfectly Artistic Designer Series Paper (from Sale-A-Bration and technically retired but may still be available!) onto a Thick Whisper White card base and glued the sentiment panel directly to it. We finished it off by wrapping the gorgeous Pool Party Glimmer Ribbon around the card front, securing it with Tear & Tape, then tying a second piece in a bow and sticking it on with more Tear & Tape so it covered the overlapping edges. A few Rhinestone Basic Jewels and it was complete!
I also thought it would be fun to play with a different color scheme:
This panel uses 3 current colors: Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral and Watermelon Wonder. I felt it was missing something without a 4th color, so I tried again:
This one is Blushing Bride, Crisp Cantaloupe (retired), Calypso Coral and Watermelon Wonder. I tied a piece of Watermelon Wonder Dotted Lace Trim around it and mounted it on a Watermelon Wonder card base, adding rhinestones as above.
Do you have stamping plans for this weekend? I'd love to see pictures of what you create...send them to me at firstname.lastname@example.org!
Just a few more days to pick up this great kit!
This is a awesome Tin of Cards kit is now available at a truly awesome price! for $20.25 you get all the pieces you need to create 16 great cards, plus envelopes and a tin to store everything in! You will need to place your order by next Monday, March 7, to receive this price. Item # 138378.
The coordinating stamp set, Tin of Cards, is not included, but as you saw in yesterday's post is a very versatile set to have in your collection. You will also need some inks...SU! wants you to use Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, Mint Macaron and JetBlack StazOn, but in truth you could make very nice-looking cards with just the StazOn or other black ink (the StazOn is preferred because there are a few slick surfaces for you to stamp on).
If you would like to order this kit and come to my house to assemble it using my stamps and inks you would be more than welcome! This would be a great project to do with friends. Out-of-towners please give me a heads-up so I can make sure my guest room is ready for you, LOL!
I've been paper-crafting since 2006, and an Independent Stampin' Up! demonstrator since 2010. I love sharing my craft with others, either through classes or by creating special cards and gifts that meet their needs. Join me in creating fun!
