Season of Style Projects

The October and November Paper Pumpkin kits were a first for Stampin' Up! in the they were designed to coordinate with each other.  The idea was probably that one would make the cards in the October kit, and be able to give them with the stockings in the November kit.

But you know us creative types...we had to come up with alternative projects!  In this post I will show you everything I've made with the stockings.  The original kits contained supplies intended to make  10 stockings.  I didn't go so far as to cut up the stockings, so I have 6 projects with those.

This is my version, but before decorating the stockings I spritzed them with hairspray and ran them through the Big Shot with the Cable Knit Dynamic Embossing Folder.  A big shout out to Arlene Mantle Was Dunham who posted this idea...it really dresses up the plain muslin!  Lindor Truffles fit perfectly into the toes of each of these, and 3 of them are filled with an additional truffle, a mini hand sanitizer and mini hand cream from  Bath & Body Works.  The fourth has 2 additional truffles and the chocolate santa.  Just be sure whatever you're buying to go in has a 2-inch or smaller diameter.

Rachel Tessman, queen of everything Paper Pumpkin, shared these 2 ideas.  On the left a stocking has a marble put in the toe, and it's tied into place with Basic Black Baker's Twine.  Then the cuff is slipped onto a decorated 4 oz paper coffee/espresso cup that's been decorated with some punched cardstock.  The nose is a petal from the Daisy Punch, trimmed to a point at one end and with some black marks for the ridges.   There definitely needs to be something in the cup to act as a counterweight to the marble...this one has one Ferrero Rocher candy in it, Rachel had a K-Cup for a Keurig machine and a couple of Hershey's nuggets in hers.  One of my customers put some coins in to weigh it down and is intending to use her in a festive display.  Rachel also showed one of the stocking caps on a candle that she decorated the same way.

Folding the cuff down an additional time makes the stocking resemble a baby's bootie. I stamped the sentiment from the kit's stamp set and added a Powder Pink bow from the 2017-2019 In Color Bitty Bows.  Baby's first ornament, or a gift card, or a little pair of booties would fit nicely in here.

Inspired by another post on the Paper Pumpkin Fan Club Facebook Group, I made this bunting/banner/pennant/whatchamacallit.  I stamped the stockings randomly with the small star that is in the kit, and used the Cherry Cobbler pennants and Old Olive leaves, but instead of using the Whisper White pennants with them I cut out Gold Glimmer Paper letters to spell noel.  The letters are from the now-retired Bigz Alphabet Typeset because I thought the Large Letters Framelits might be too large.
