This is the project I made in my Facebook Live video this week. You can watch the replay on YouTube or Facebook. Join me next week for another fun project! I go live at 10:00 AM Australia Eastern Daylight Time...you can figure out what time that is where you are by clicking this link.
I used several products from the Ice Cream Corner Suite, including some Sweet Ice Cream stamps, the Ice Cream Cone Builder Punch, and some of the Suite's Designer Series Paper. I also pulled in a sentiment from the Heart to Heart stamp set.
Since I plan to give this card to my husband, Glenn, I decided to make the scoops of ice cream represent a few flavours he really likes: mint chocolate chip, vanilla, and honeycomb/hokey pokey. I did a terrible job of explaining what honeycomb is, in part because I'd never had it or even heard of it in the U.S. Here's what Wikipedia says:
"Honeycomb toffee, sponge toffee, cinder toffee or hokey pokey is a sugary toffee with a light, rigid, sponge-like texture. Its main ingredients are typically brown sugar, corn syrup (or molasses or golden syrup in the Commonwealth of Nations) and baking soda, sometimes with an acid such as vinegar."
Do you see that shine on the "chocolate syrup"? I'm super-pleased with how that turned out. A drop of Early Espresso re-inker mixed with a small blob of Fine-Tip Glue (or Shimmery Crystal Effects if you want glitter, too).
I'm quite pleased with how this turned out...I'm going to use the extra chocolate-sauced scoops I made during the video to make a few more cards with the Happy Birthday sentiment.
Let me know if you give it a try - I love to see your creations either sent to me in an email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or posted on my Nancy's Nifty Notemakers Facebook Group!
Here's what I used to make this card...clicking on Add All To Card will do just that - then you can easily delete anything you already own.
Also: here's a link to the Card Layer Templates I talked about in the video.
I've been paper-crafting since 2006, and an Independent Stampin' Up! demonstrator since 2010. I love sharing my craft with others, either through classes or by creating special cards and gifts that meet their needs. Join me in creating fun!
