Several months ago I received a Random Act of Kindness (RAK) card from Tanya Rees. The card is so pretty I've been wanting to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) it. This week I finally did as part of my bulk-batch card making. I made 2 of each colour.
The big Stitched Lace Die is so intricate that it can be a bit annoying to use if the bits (chads?) get stuck in the cardstock and/or die. After cutting a couple of them I finally remembered the trick of putting a layer of wax paper between the die and cardstock. It acts as a dry lubricant and 99% of the bits come out with a quick pass of the Take Your Pick Die Brush. To adhere it to the card base I used little dots of glue:
I stamped the sentiment multiple times on a piece of cardstock and then sliced it into very narrow strips.
Here's what I used to make these:
Upcoming Classes & Events
September Monthly Card Class
Due to current Covid-19 conditions in Melbourne I can only offer this class as a kit/online version.
I will provide a kit and written instructions to make the 5 cards shown above. Participants will be able to add sentiments as desired with their own stamps and inks. Kits can be picked up from my residence in Melbourne using safe, social distancing protocols, or I can ship via tracked satchel. Come give this a try - perfect if you've always wanted to try my classes and can't attend in person.
Online (Zoom) Group Assembly Session: Saturday, 26 September, 2:00 pm AEST (optional – click here to find your local time). Meeting link will be shared when you place your order.
Card Kit: includes all the pieces and printed directions needed to create 5 cards. You will need to supply your own stamps and ink for sentiments, as well as having basic adhesive (like Multipurpose Liquid Glue) for assembly.
Cost: $30 + $8.95 optional shipping. Australian crafters only, sorry.
RSVP Deadline for Kits is Friday, 18 September, but please sign up ASAP to ensure timely delivery.
Written Tutorial: Purchase the instructions including measurements (in centimetres and inches) and create along with us using your own supplies. You can substitute papers and colours based on what you have. International customers welcome!
Join me on Zoom to celebrate World Cardmaking Day!
World Cardmaking Day is celebrated on the first Saturday of October each year. This has usually meant throwing open my home to anyone who wants to make cards for a good cause - paediatric hospitals in Phoenix and Melbourne. This year will be different, because 2020, right?
I will be crafting cards from the Global Paper Pumpkin Kit: Box of Sunshine, and welcome everyone to come play along. You can purchase your own kit here, or just make some cards using your own stash.
Then we will prepare our cards to send out to some friends and family who could use a little bit of sunshine! I hope you'll be part of the fun!
