Earlier this month I spent a long weekend with a group of good friends in Milwaukee, Wisconsin...you may have seen pictures I posted on my personal Facebook page of the fun activities we did. On the last day one of my friends who lives in the area took me to a stamping store owned by the famous non-SU! stamper, Gina K. I saw a card there that I knew I wanted to CASE (Copy And Share Everything). Here's what I made: I started with a panel of Whisper White card stock and stamped the small swirl from the Swirly Bird stamp set all over in VersaMark ink. I then covered the stamping with Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder and heat set it. Using a Stampin' Sponge I covered the panel with Flirty Flamingo ink, deliberately keeping it a bit uneven in application. the embossed swirls resist the ink, leaving them glossy and white. I rubbed over them with a bit of paper towel to be sure there wasn't any ink clinging to them. Then I stamped the sentiment from the Designer Tin of Cards stamp set on a piece of Vellum card stock. I first inked the stamp in VersaMark, then tapped it on my Memento Tuxedo Black pad to get a sticky, black impression that would hold the Clear Stampin' Emboss Powder. I wrapped the Vellum around the swirly panel, adhering it to the back. Then I mounted it on a panel of Basic Black card stock and tied a length of Whisper White ⅝" Organza Ribbon around it. Then I adhered it to a Flirty Flamingo card base. Finally, I added some long-retired black rhinestones. One could use regular rhinestones colored with a black permanent marker instead. Here's the card I CASE'd: It appears the SU! is completely on-trend in the stamping world, don't you think? Wonder which set came first.... Upcoming EventsNovember Events Coffee and a Card - NEW!
