On last week's Facebook Live video I played with colouring the Christmas Rose image with 2 different white pigments. You can see the video on Facebook or YouTube.
Join me each week as I share tips and tricks while creating something new. I go live on Wednesday mornings at 10:00 AM AEDT...you can look here to see what time that is where you are! Here's the card I completed on the video:
I stamped the image in Versamark ink on Smoky Slate cardstock. Then I covered it in White Stampin' Emboss Powder and heat set it. I coloured in the roses with Whisper White Craft ink using a Wink of Stella brush pen. It gave the opacity I wanted, but not very much shimmer.
I coloured the leaves using a bit of water on a plain brush and the same Whisper White Craft ink. Similar opacity, no shimmer.
The berries are coloured with my Highland Heather Stampin' Write Marker, and the sentiment is from Varied Vases. A few sequins from the Gingham Gala collection, a Highland Heather mat and Whisper White Thick card base complete the card. Here's what I made with the other image I coloured during the video:
These are actually the first roses I coloured, using the Frost White Shimmer Paint. As you can see, the colour is much more translucent, showing the Smoky Slate colour, just very sparkly.
For the leaves I mixed some of the Whisper White Craft ink with a bit of the Frost White Shimmer paint. Some of the leaves have more opacity than others.
I chose to cut out the image with the coordinating die, then mounted it on a Highland Heather mat stamped and heat embossed with an old Paper Pumpkin sentiment and embossed with the Tufted 3D folder. This time I used a Gorgeous Grape card base. If you watched me create these images either Live or on the replay you will have seen the creative experiment unfold. It's fun to play around and see what effects one gets, and then decide what to make with the results. Here's what I used to make them: Upcoming Classes
