This card really speaks to my heart. Not that I don’t like most of the cards I make, but some just really spark something with me. I think it’s the clean-and-simple (CAS) design combined with the bright colours and shine of gold. I CASE’d it from Wendy Weixler with a minor change.
The images from Christmas Gleaming are stamped in Versamark and heat set with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I hand-cut the Shaded Spruce holly clusters and the Cherry Cobbler berries and glued them together (this technique is called paper-piecing). The coordinating punch made cutting out the ornament super-easy. I attached a length of 3/16″ Braided Linen Trim to the back of the ornament with a Mini Glue Dot.
Here’s a tip for you: once I had the 3 images laid out the way I wanted them I used a piece of Glad Press N Seal plastic wrap to keep them in position while I flipped them over and applied Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Once I removed the Dimensional backings I used the Press N Seal to place the images exactly where I wanted them. The wrap then peels off cleanly, and is ready to be used many more times.
It’s hard to see in the picture, but the Whisper White layer that everything is mounted on has been run through the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder before being layered on the Shaded Spruce mat.
