Do you know what CASE means? It is the acronym for Copy And Steal/Share Everything (or, as my team leader, Kylie, says, Copy And Selectively Edit). It’s an accepted paper crafting practice, as long as credit is given for where one found the design. CASE’ing can be a straight copying, or one can change an element, like the stamp set or Designer Series Paper (DSP), or the orientation.
When I’m in a crafting doldrum I find CASE’ing or doing some kind of challenge (sketch or colour, for example) helps me out of it. Over the holiday period I was out of routine and out of sorts and looking for something to pull me out of it, and started leafing through our 2023-2024 Annual Catalogue. I decided to CASE this card from page 113.
I didn’t check the “recipe” that SU! provides demonstrators for catalogue samples, just went with my impression of the card and how it might have been made by the concept artist. I know my image panel is a different size from the one pictured, but that’s ok.
This card involved some watercolouring to get the ombré effect on the top wave diecut and to colour the cardstock for the clouds. I also pulled out my Gilded Leafing for the first time in a LONG time.
My favourite element may be the sequins that I coloured with a Stampin’ Blends Marker.
