One reason to copy the catalogue is to get a better sense of what makes an appealing card. Layers, images, colour…it all works together and it’s a skill that is great to practice.
For instance, at first glance one might miss the Vellum wreath, especially in the small image in the catalogue. But it really does add a nice depth and something “extra” to the card, which one might not realise as well if not for making it oneself.
I think the same is true for the ink blending on the striped layer…I’m not sure I would have thought to do that, but I’m glad to be reminded of the option by creating this card.
