These are the cards I made and showed during this week’s Facebook Live video. You can watch it on replay on YouTube and Facebook. I go live on my Nancy’s Nifty Notes Facebook Page every Wednesday at 10:00 AET. You can check to see what time that is where you are at this website (NOTE: U.S. friends who like to watch live – if your clock changes on Sunday you should double-check the time on this site!).
The other day I pulled the 2 Christmas kits from Stampin’ Up! out of my stash and started playing with them.
These kits are all-inclusive, meaning that they come with everything you need to make them as designed by the Stampin’ Up! concept artists, including stamps, ink, clear block, embellishments, and adhesives. At AUD$33.00 each, they’re a great value!
If you’ve been following me for any length of time, I love to take our kits and make alternative designs and projects with them. I made one of each of the Christmas Whimsy cards (above), but then had to change things up a bit.
This was inspired by a card posted by Diana Gibbs. She used a different DSP, but the same layout.
I purchased the Love, Santa Tag Kit knowing that I would be using them on card fronts rather than as tags. I decided that one of the Santa tags should grace the card base from the Whimsy kit that would have had the elf on the ladder I used in the card above.
I saw a different version of this card on Melissa Titheridge’s website and decided this was a great use of the Christmas Tree tag.
Then I made this one, more directly CASE’d from Melissa. Be sure to watch the video to see how I made the skyscrapers.
This one is my own design, and takes the tag made just about as designed and mounts it on an embossed mat (again, you can see the neat texture from the Star-Crossed embossing folder in the video) and then a card base.
And finally, another Santa card.
I’ll be back again with another post once I figure out how I’m using the rest of the kits.
In the video there’s some discussion about the kits being on backorder in the U.S. I have checked, and as of this writing they are still available in Australia, so order and craft away!
Here’s a supply list for the cards…clicking on a picture will take you to that product’s page in my Online Store.
