Feeling Blue?

It would be understandable if you were – week ? of staying home or working in the new coronavirus environment can bring anyone down.  Hopefully you’re staying productive and uplifted despite the madness.

Here’s a pair of blue cards to  help lift your spirits:

I CASE’d the idea from Maheswari Rajaguru, changing up the sentiment (and leaving it off one of the cards).  They feature the Flowering Foils DSP that was available during Sale-A-Bration, with a couple of different colouring techniques.  The flowers and leaves were coloured with Stampin’ Blends markers.

The background panel was inked with Seaside Spray Classic Ink.  The one on the left I used a Stamping Sponge to swirl the ink all over.  For the one on the right I dragged the entire ink pad over the surface of the paper.  I worked carefully to not overlap the dragged colour too much to maintain a smoother coating of ink.  I think both turned out well.

You’ll notice that due to the difference in size of the flowers I’ve placed them and their background Night of Navy strips in different places on the card fronts.  Again, I think that both work just fine.

It is so much fun to give oneself permission to play with supplies freely!  If you’re hoarding paper because you’re waiting for the perfect use, challenge yourself to cut into it and create something today!

Here’s what I used for these cards:
