Field of Poppies

Here’s a card I made just before I left Melbourne for just more than a week  in the United States. I love how I can schedule my blog and social media posts in advance, and keep interacting with my customers and team members while I travel!  It feels like I’ve been gone a long time, yet I’m still in touch with what’s been happening.

I CASE’d this card from Teri Pocock, and liked hers so much I kept it the same except for the sentiment.  I stamped the poppies several times on the strip of Whisper White in Memento Tuxedo Black ink, then coloured them with the Poppy Parade Light and Dark Stampin’ Blends markers.  I mounted this on a slightly wider strip of Pool Party and cut 6 of the scalloped border pieces with the Painted Labels Dies. I am pleased with how I was able to get the pieces to line up easily so it’s hard to tell where the seams are!

The background panel is a piece of Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper, and I mounted everything on a Basic Black card base.  The sentiment is from Varied Vases, stamped in Versamark and set with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder before punching with the Classic Label Punch.
