April Online Card Class

I am introducing a new format for my Monthly Card Class.  I will provide a kit and written instructions to make 5 cards (sneak peek above).  Participants will be able to add sentiments as desired with their own stamps and inks.  Kits can be picked up from my residence in Melbourne using safe, social distancing protocols, or I can ship via Australia Post tracked satchel.  Come give this a try – perfect if you’ve always wanted to try my classes and can’t attend in person.  Don’t live in Australia?  Get my printed directions and follow along with your own supplies!

Online (Zoom) Group Assembly Session: Saturday, 18 April, 1:00 PM AEST (optional – click here to find your local time).  Meeting link will be shared when you place your order.
Card Kit Option:  includes all the pieces and printed directions needed to create 5 cards.  You will need to supply your own stamps and ink for sentiments, as well as having basic adhesive (like Multipurpose Liquid Glue) for assembly.
Cost: $30 + $8.95 optional shipping (Australian crafters only, sorry)
RSVP & Payment Deadline is Friday, 10 April to ensure timely delivery.

PDF Tutorial Option:  Get a detailed set of directions for 5 cards that includes measurements.  You can substitute supplies and stamp sets you have in your stash.  Create on your own or prep to craft along during the online session.
Cost: $15 (International crafters welcome!)

Yesterday I showed you some cards I made to play along with the CASE-ing Tuesday #246 challenge.  I mentioned that I had an idea for another card, and that’s what I’m showing you today.

It uses a technique called “black magic,” This is where one stamps a solid image in white ink on a dark background, and then colors over the white ink.

On this card I rotated the sketch 90°, and eliminated the sentiment, embellishments and bow.  I kept playing with possibilities, but liked leaving the emphasis on the coloured flowers.

I used my sticky-note masks again to place the leaves “behind” the flowers.

I simply coloured with my Watercolor Pencils on top of the white ink, the same way I coloured on the Crumb Cake cardstock on yesterday’s cards.  I did fill in the centres of the flowers with the Whisper White Watercolor Pencil and then colour over them with the Daffodil Delight and Old Olive pencils.

Here’s what I used to make this card:
