Flowering Fields

Here’s another card we made in the February class.  I CASE’d it from Debbie Henderson. (CASE stands for Copy And Share Everything, and is an accepted practice in the stamping world as long as credit is given to the original artist.)
Picture

To start, I used the Lots of Labels Framelits to cut the Whisper White Panel.  I selected one that would give me the size panel I wanted to stamp on, and the one that was the next size bigger.  I lined them up TOGETHER in the center of the panel and cut at the same time.  This gave me the panel for stamping, and another frame piece that could be discarded or saved for another project.  Then I took the Whisper White layer and ran it through the Brick Wall embossing folder.

I used 2 different flower stalks from the FREE Flowering Fields Sale-A-Bration stamp set and stamped them in Archival Basic Gray ink.  First I stamped the center flower, then the second one on each side.  Then the butterfly from the same set.  I used Stampin’ Write Markers to color the images:  Watermelon Wonder and Delightful Dijon for the blossoms, Cool Cucumber for the leaves, Calypso Coral and Mint Macaron for the butterfly.

I layered the Whisper White brick panel onto some Watermelon Wonder, and then onto a Smoky Slate card base.  After tying a bit of Smoky Slate Thick Baker’s Twine around the image panel, I popped it up with Stampin’ Dimensionals in the center.

Of course, it was only after I took the above picture that I noticed that my layers are crooked!  Sigh.  This card has no sentiment on the front, which makes it great for all kinds of occasions, from birthday to sympathy.

Tin of Cards for sale in the Weekly Deals!

This is a awesome kit now available at a truly awesome price!  for $20.25 you get all the pieces you need to create 16 great cards, plus envelopes and a tin to store everything in!    You will need to place your order by next Monday, March 7, to receive this price.  Item # 138378.

The coordinating stamp set, Tin of Cards, is not included, but as you saw in yesterday’s post is a very versatile set to have in your collection.  You will also need some inks…SU! wants you to use Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, Mint Macaron and JetBlack StazOn, but in truth you could make very nice-looking cards with just the StazOn or other black ink (the StazOn is preferred because there are a few slick surfaces for you to stamp on).

If you would like to order this kit and come to my house to assemble it using my stamps and inks you would be more than welcome!  This would be a great project to do with friends.  Out-of-towners please give me a heads-up so I can make sure my guest room is ready for you, LOL!
