Forever Blossoms with Watercolor Pencils

These are the cards I made during my Facebook Live crafting session this week.  You can catch the replay on YouTube or Facebook.   You can also set a reminder to catch me live next week at 10:00 am AEST (click here to see when that is where you are).

I decided to play along with CASE-ing Tuesday again, using this week’s inspiration:

I kept the layout and focal image the same, but put my own twists on the execution. I decided to showcase how to use our Watercolour Pencils on Crumb Cake cardstock, since it’s a great way to get a different look from Stampin’ Blends Markers or traditional ink watercoloring.

On this card I used the Watercolor Pencils and a Blender Pen to blend and soften the colors.  I used Vellum Cardstock for the background panel just like the original, but changed up the sentiment.

On this version I used exactly the same Watercolor Pencils, but didn’t blend the colors.  I like how you can see the pencil strokes and their feathered effect.  It almost looks like embroidery there’s so much texture. The background panel on this card is made from Shimmery White Cardstock.

Both cards have a Flirty Flamingo base that I ran through the Scripty 3D Embossing Folder.  The original card has a panel of Parisian Blossoms Designer Series Paper with script writing on it, but I did this instead.   The original card also has rhinestones around the floral image but I chose to use Champagne Rhinestones in the flower centres.

I’ve got another idea for this layout…check back soon to see what I do!

Here’s what I used to make these…click on the pictures if you want to purchase any of the products.
