There are some Designer Series Paper (DSP) stacks that I just fall in love with, and the Frosted Floral DSP from the soon-to-be-discontinued Holiday Catalogue is one of them. If you haven’t gotten a personal look at this paper it’s a shame, because each sheet has 2 sides of gorgeous shimmery colour that pictures just can’t show.
This paper is available through January 2…you can order it through my online store!
I decided to use one sheet of this paper to make a set of 8 cards using a One Sheet Wonder template. What is a One Sheet Wonder? It’s a set of instructions for cutting a sheet of patterned paper into various sized pieces and card layouts utilising those pieces.
I used a template made by Claudia Ausborn specifically for metric card measurements. If one Googles “One Sheet Wonder” one will find a gazillion templates for measurements in inches, but almost none in centimetres. Claudia posted this in Kylie Bertucci’s Love It Chop It Workshop Facebook page, which I highly recommend if you’re looking for great ideas to use your stash of DSP!
One of the things I like about this method of card making is that I still get to use my creative side…choosing what colours to mat/stamp in, which side of the DSP to use, what sentiment would be best, which ribbon or embellishments, etc.
I got 8 cards from this cutting template…I could have gotten a 9th but I chose to use 2 pieces on one card.
Just taking a quick look at the papers in the swatch photo at the top, one might think that there would be an overwhelming purple and aqua theme…but with this sheet I used Night of Navy, Mossy Meadow and Merry Merlot for the card bases/ink/mats. The cards have a breezy but very rich feel.
I’m thinking that this would make a nice set of cards to give as a gift…what do you think?
Local stampers…I’m thinking of offering a One Sheet Wonder workshop…let me know if you’d be interested!
