Gleaming Silver CASE-ing Tuesday #228

TODAY ONLY!

Today’s card is a mash-up of the layout from #CASEingTuesday228 and the colour scheme and stamp set in Connie Rae‘s card. I had just seen Connie’s card when I sat down to play on the challenge, and this is what I came up with.
Catalogue card to be CASE’d

I tried a couple of different methods to get the watercoloured background that I wanted.  First, I took a piece of watercolour paper and did a Smoky Slate wash, and added some Silvery Shimmer Delitcata ink over it.  But I didn’t like the look.
So I smooshed the Delicata ink pad all over an acrylic block, spritzed it with water and pressed it to the reverse side of the watercolour paper.  I felt it came out too “solid”, but later decided to stamp my ornaments on it.
I then spritzed the remaining Shimmery Silver ink on the acrylic block with water again, and pressed it to a piece of Whisper White cardstock.  Eureka! A bit of colour, very diffuse and shimmery.  I cut it down with a Stitched Rectangles die.

Then I punched out the ornaments and added them along with the sentiment strip, Silver Glimmer Paper strip, Silver Baker’s Twine bow, and a few Rhinestones and Epoxy Drops.
