Happy Hedgehog Day!

I know, here in the U.S. we’re all about February 2nd being Groundhog Day, but apparently it’s also Hedgehog Day.  My friend, Joyce, knows that I adore pictures of hedgehogs, and sent me a link to this slideshow full of cute pics and fun facts about hedgies.

So, having just learned that there is such a thing as Hedgehog Day, I had to interrupt our regularly scheduled blog post to bring you my very quick-and-dirty homage to hedgehog stamp images.

This montage of images is only one-quarter Stampin’ Up!  Do you know which one?  The bottom, right image is from the Best of Snow commemorative stamp set from SU!’s 25th anniversary celebration a few years ago.  This image is why I had to have the set.

The rest of the images are from a variety of Penny Black stamps, both individual red rubber and clear “slapstick or cling” sets.  Before I became an SU! demonstrator I cultivated a nice little collection of their stamps, and it was fun to pull them out today.

The images are stamped in StazOn Black, and colored with Stampin’ Write Markers.  The heart bubbles and snow-hedgie are also covered in Wink of Stella Clear shimmer pen.  I also added snow with the Softly Falling embossing folder.

I had originally thought to make a set of four 3″x3″ note cards, but when I had the images finished I decided I wanted to display them in this shadowbox frame from Ikea I’ve had for a while.  A fun addition to the craft room decor that makes me smile.
