Heat Embossing on DSP

In this week’s Facebook Live video I spent time exploring what happens when we stamp and heat emboss images on Designer Series Paper (DSP – Stampin’ Up!’s name for patterned papers).  Since I wanted to show as many examples as possible in a reasonable time I didn’t make my samples into cards during the broadcast, but promised to show them here.

You can see the video on Facebook or YouTube…and mark your calendar to join me next week at 10 AM Melbourne time to check out what I’m doing.

These are my stamped and embossed pieces at the end of the video.

Enjoy Life stamp set stamped in Versamark with black embossing powder on Garden Lane DSP.  Sentiment is from the same set but done in Whisper White ink and white EP.  It’s hard to see in this pic, but the black mat is equal on the left, right, and top sides, but flush with the piece of DSP on the bottom since it’s already so black-heavy.

This notecard I did show in my video, just not glued together.  This is definitely my favourite pattern from the See A Silhouette DSP.  Once again it’s the Enjoy Life stamp set, Versamark and black EP.

More See a Silhouette DSP, this time with the stamp set in that suite, called Silhouette Scenes.  I decided not to mat this layer, simply adhering it to a Whisper White card base.

Dandelion Wishes stamp set inked in Whisper White and set with Shimmer White embossing powder on Perennial Essence DSP.  Sentiment is from Floral Essence, ribbon is Petal Pink Striped Organdy.  It makes the nicest bows!

So sparkly!

Here are the samples I made in preparation for my video, featuring the Floral Essence stamp set.  The top notecard uses Garden Lane DSP, and the bottom is on more of the Perennial Essence DSP.  It shows (L-R) Versamark and white EP, Whisper White and white EP, and inking first in Versamark then tapping on my Petal Pink pad before stamping, and using clear EP.
I hope this has inspired you to play around with your stamps, DSP, and embossing powders.  As I said, I love to see what you create, so please send me pictures!

Here’s a listing of what I used…
