Today I’m celebrating two 35th anniversaries…my wedding and Stampin’ Up!’s founding.
That’s right, way back in 1988 when I was but a young’un, Glenn and I were starting our life together, and Stampin’ Up! was getting started in Shelli Gardner’s house.
This weekend I saw a challenge posted in a Facebook group to find your oldest SU! set and create a card with it…and thought it would be a fun way to mark these milestones.
My oldest set actually pre-dates my start with stamping…it’s Hedgehog Happiness, and I purchased it used somewhere along the way.
It’s old enough (2000) that not only is it wood-mount, but it’s when our stamps and stickers came in solid sheets and needed to be cut apart to mount.
And from when Hostess Rewards could only be redeemed for Hostess Sets, which were made from purple rubber!
Friends who’ve been around me for a while may know that I really like hedgehogs, especially super-cute images like these.
It was fun to come back to these images and combine them with current products, like the Radiating Stitches Dies and Stampin’ Blends Markers.
Why don’t you take the challenge, and post your creation on the Nancy’s Nifty Notemakers Group? I’d love to see what you’ve got!
