Hello Honey Bee Revisted

A few weeks ago I showed you a card we made during my February Monthly Card Class.  It’s also one that I taught in the U.S. during Nickie’s card class.  I had an extra card kit all made up, so I decided to try out another idea I’ve seen floating around.

The Daffodil Delight strip of cardstock has been swapped for Gold Foil, and the bee’s stripes have been coloured in with a long-retired Gold Stampin’ Dazzle Marker.  The really fun part, however, is how I made the metallic gold honeycomb pieces.  

I put 3 of our carried-over Black Stampin’ Dimensionals on a piece of backing paper from other Dimensionals, removed the protective paper, and sprinkled them with Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

Then I heat-set them.  Once they were cool I just peeled them off the backing paper and placed them on the card.

Yes, I could have cut the hexagons out of Gold Foil like I did the Daffodil Delight ones on the first version, but these have neat dimension and are more fun.
