Hello, March!

Welcome to a new month.  In the Phoenix area, March is the time of Major League Baseball’s Cactus League Spring Training, and lots of snowbirds/spring break visitors all jamming the roads.  And spending lots of money, which makes it possible to build those roads, so I guess it all evens out, LOL.

In the Stampin’ Up! world, March is the last month of the Sale-A-Bration period, so be sure you get your order(s) in to receive your FREE item(s)…remember you can choose one for every $50 you spend.  By the way, if you realized that you wanted one of the limited-time offerings that went away on February 15, SU! announced today that they have a small quantity of them left, so you can still try to choose one.  Let me know if you have any questions on this or anything else.

If you’re looking for my March class schedule, hang tight a few more days…I’m still working out the details.  In the meantime, here’s a look at what we made in February’s classes:

This card is all about the Botanical Gardens Suite on pp. 26-27 of the Occasions Catalog.  From this suite we used the Botanical Blooms stamp set, the Botanical Builder Framelits Dies, and the Botanical Gardens Designer Series Paper (DSP).

We started by cutting the left edge of the Thick Whisper White card base with the leafy vine Framelit, which allows the DSP we added to show through.

The large leaf was stamped in Mossy Meadow ink on Pear Pizazz card stock before being cut with a Framelit and the edges sponged.  The flowers were cut from some DSP and Hello Honey card stock.  The Hello Honey flower was stamped in the center with a little image from the stamp set in Cajun Craze.  The leaf and large flower were popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals, and the Hello Honey flower added with a Glue Dot.  The sentiment is from the Tin of Cards set, and was stamped in Mossy Meadow.

The Botanical Blooms stamp set also coordinates with some images on the Botanical Gardens DSP.  You can see in the picture below where we added veins and flower centers to leaves and flowers:  Cajun Craze centers on Cajun Craze flowers, long stamens in Hello Honey on those flowers, and veins in Old Olive and Mossy Meadow on leaves.  This is the first DSP that was designed to be stamped on for added dimension, and it’s very fun!

These three items in the suite are available in a bundle ( item number is 140819) which saves 15% off the cost of purchasing them separately. In addition, you’ll see that one can purchase some sparkly embellishments and washi tape that also coordinate.  Oh, the fun one can have!

Know how I’ve been talking about Paper Pumpkin?

Stampin’ Up! just announced today that they’re now offering a 12-month prepaid subscription that will save you $24 over the monthly pay-as-you-go option!  The item number is 137861, and the cost is $214.50.  This will earn you 4 Sale-A-Bration items if you purchase it before the end of March.

The 3-month prepaid subscription (item number 137859) is still on sale for $55, and will earn you 1 Sale-A-Bration item.

Either way, be sure to sign up before March 10, so that you don’t miss the 3-year anniversary kit in March!
