Llama

I had a special request from a friend in the USA for a card celebrating her daughter’s earning a master’s degree.  The daughter loves llamas, and while SU! used to have a set with a llama and coordinating die, but it’s been retired for a bit now and mine has found a new home.

So I went online and found a llama pattern to work with my e-cutter, and got her a llama that way! My e-cutter is a Brother Scan-N-Cut, which I love, but these files come in several formats that work with a variety of cutters.  For example, I know it would have worked as well with my older Silhouette Cameo 2.  I upgraded my machine about 6 months ago because it scans stamped images and DSP patterns and makes it really easy to cut them out when they don’t have coordinating dies.

I did some playing around with the size of the pattern to get it to fit on a regular card front, but the software made it easy to select everything and keep it all proportional while reducing by a particular percentage.

I was told that the recipient loves purple, so that was easy for the background.  Her master’s is in environmental science, so I used the Layered Leaves 3D embossing folder.

My friend is thrilled, and I hope her daughter likes it, too.
