Marbelous Color & Contours Box

I decided I wanted to have a box to be able to gift the set of Marbelous Color and Contours cards I showed yesterday. I did a bit of searching, and finally chose to make one based on a video tutorial by Vicki Parfenow.

This design does rely on the Envelope Punch Board, which SU! has discontinued carrying. I like it for the reasons Vicki cites in her video – it has nice, neat corners (though my first attempt at the box bottom (right) aren’t as neat as they could be), it’s pretty strong with the folded-in sides and liner, and has minimal cutting involved. The biggest down side is that it requires 12″ x 12″ cardstock, which many card makers don’t keep on hand, and is only available in standard weight in the Basic White, which makes the box I made a bit flimsier than is ideal, though I did make the liner with Basic White Thick. Note: it’s just occurred to me as I write that I should try it with the white backing card that comes with our DSP packs!

I decorated the top of the box the same way I did the cards, though I cut the DSP a bit bigger. Since I still had everything set up on my Stamparatus™ it was super-easy to do!

If you’re in Australia and would like help tracking down an Envelope Punch Board, just let me know…if I can’t find a used SU! branded one I can point you to some online crafting stores that carry them.

Everything else can be purchased in my Online Store. You can click on any picture below to go straight to that product’s page.
