Once again I’m featuring the fun Simply Marbelous Designer Series Paper (DSP) available for FREE with a minimum $90 purchase during Sale-A-Bration. This time I’ve used the paper piecing technique with the Color & Contours bundle.
Paper piecing is stamping the image twice, once to use for a background (in this case the image on the Basic White layer), and the second time to cut out a portion to “piece” onto the background image. You can see that I’ve stamped and cut the blossoms on the Simply Marbelous DSP and added them to the Basic White layer.
The Basic White layer is popped up on another layer of Simply Marbelous DSP in the same colour, and then on a Basic White Thick card base.
I was very happy to use my Stamparatus™ to be able to stamp multiples, and because I stamped each image and the sentiment two times to get a very dark impression. I mounted the image and sentiment on separate plates, largely because one is photopolymer (thus requiring the foam mat) and the other is red rubber cling mount.
Which other images do you think would work well for paper piecing? If you give it a try I’d love to see the results! Feel free to upload them on my Nancy’s Nifty Notemakers Facebook Group.
Here’s the list of supplies – clicking on any picture will take you to that product’s page in my Online Store.
