I’ve set a goal for myself of having a new holiday-themed project to share with you every Monday until just before New Year’s, for a total of 20 projects. Here’s this week’s:
This is a Paper Pumpkin kit mash-up! I totally CASE’d the idea from Rachel Tessman. The frame is from the April 2014 kit that was for a project I didn’t care for at all. While I used that kit’s stamps on other projects I had squirreled away the frame until the right inspiration hit. Pairing the November 2016 kit with this frame is perfect!
Here is how the November kit is designed to look:
Cute cards, right? 3 die-cut layers and a vellum layer for lots of fun dimension. They are actually pretty small (4.25″ x 3″) with a slightly larger envelope, so I “upsized” them, cutting the Dapper Denim envelope into a 4.5″ x 3.25″ layer and putting them on a Thick Whisper White card base covered with the great textured patterns of a 5.5″ x 4.25″ piece of Fancy Frost DSP.
Anyhow, when I saw Rachel’s project I decided to use one of the sets of die cuts to make the framed scene. I layered the two light blue pieces on a square of Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and wrapped some Bermuda Bay 1/8″ Stitched Ribbon around it and tied a bow. Rachel used a sentiment from another Paper Pumpkin kit, but I wanted something a bit more neutral, so I used the Warm Winter Wishes sentiment from one of my only non-SU! sets: Baah Humbug by Lawn Fawn.
I discovered I also had the card stock cover for the frame that came in the old kit, which coordinates perfectly with this new use! I adhered the white die cut to the bottom and slipped it over the frame, then tied the white ribbon around and added the tag.
All ready for gifting! Now, who should it go to???? Leave a comment below and if I get at least 5 comments I’ll hold a drawing! Since this is a finished project and not SU! product I can mail it anywhere in the world, so don’t hold back!
