Merry Monday #19 & 20

I set a goal for myself of having a new holiday-themed project to share with you every Monday until New Year’s, for a total of 20 projects.  I did really well, too, until the last few projects.  I am blaming it on a virus-turned-sinus-and-chest-infection for my delayed and then missed posts.  Here, on the 20th Monday, I give you #19 and 20:
I have enjoyed coloring all of the images from Merry Mice this season, and am sad that it’s not listed as carrying over.  If you want to be sure you have it in your stash, you’d better order it by January 4!   I CASE’d this card from a German demonstrator, I believe, but can’t now find the link.  The image panel is a piece of Shimmery card stock, on which I did a quick watercolor wash in Crumb Cake with my larger AquaPainter.  After it dried I stamped the mice in Archival Basic Black ink, and then used my small AquaPainter and Emerald Envy, Watermelon Wonder, Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry and Sahara Sand inks to color the images.  Then I mounted it on a piece of Crumb Cake card stock and a Whisper White Note Card with the sentiment stamped in Basic Black.
CASE’d from Dutch demonstrator, Annette Elias, this series of cards uses the emboss resist technique with the Frosted Medallions stamp set.  First I inked up  the large medallion in VersaMark ink, then in Soft Sky ink then stamped it on an 8.5 x 11″ sheet of Whisper White card stock.  I repeated this process repeatedly until the sheet was covered with random medallions.  I worked quickly to be sure the images remained sticky, and when all were stamped I covered them in Clear Embossing Powder and heated it with my heat tool.

I took my embossed sheet and cut it into four, 4″ x 5.25″ panels.  Each panel was sponged all over with Marina Mist ink. I then highlighted varying amounts of the center of the medallions with Dapper Denim ink and a sponge dauber.  Some just got an intense pop of color in the very center, and others got a softer swab of color all around the center figure.  I also sponged the Dapper Denim all around the edges of the panel.

I stamped the sentiment from the set on a strip of Whisper White and flagged the end with the Triple Banner Punch.  A slightly larger strip of Vellum card stock was likewise flagged and layered over the sentiment with a couple of Mini Glue Dots, positioned where I wanted to put Rhinestones.

The main panel is layered on a piece of Whisper White, then mounted on a Marina Mist card base.  The original I CASE’d from had a blue-tinted lace bow, but I preferred the solid pop this 3/8″ Ruched Ribbon in Dapper Denim made.

So with that, I wish you a “Happy New Year” and hope that I will have the opportunity to stamp with you sometime…like maybe at one of my January classes!
