Merry Monday #8 of 20

I’ve set a goal for myself of having a new holiday-themed project to share with you every Monday until just before New Year’s, for a total of 20 projects.  Here’s this week’s:
Living in Arizona, when the Annual Catalog debuted I knew I had to buy Birthday Fiesta for the saguaro cactus…and who could resist the cute llama?  That led to this card for my Christmas in July class:
In the Holiday Catalog I discovered Fa-la-la-la Friends, which has another llama image…hooray!

To make this card I stamped the llama in Basic Black Archival ink on Crumb Cake card stock.  Then I used a (retired) VersaMark marker to fill in some of the lightbulbs and sprinkled Real Red Glitter Embossing Powder on them and set with my heat tool.  Then I filled in the remaining lightbulbs and sprinkled and set the Emerald Envy Green Glitter Embossing Powder.

I found that the trick for the glitter embossing powders is to heat them gently, switching back and forth from the front to the back of the card stock.  You may want to start on the back, to avoid blowing off the glitter.

Before cutting out the llama with the coordinating Fiesta Time Framelits I used my Blushing Bride Stampin’ Write Marker to color the inside of the ears.

On a Very Vanilla panel I stamped the ground using one of the stamps from Timeless Textures in Crumb Cake, and the saguaro cactus from Fiesta Birthday in Garden Green.  Finally, I stamped the sentiment from Fa-la-la-la Friends in Basic Black Archival before adding the llama with Dimensionals.

The Very Vanilla card base has a panel of This Christmas Designer Series Paper (Annual Catalog) mounted on a Cherry Cobbler mat, and I mounted the stamped panel on a Garden Green Mat before adding it to the card with Dimensionals.
