Monochrome Masked Backgrounds Cards

These are the cards I made during this week’s Facebook Live video. You can watch it on replay on YouTube and Facebook. I go live on my Nancy’s Nifty Notes Facebook Page every Wednesday at 10:00 AET…you can check to see what time that is where you are at this website.

I recently saw a very similar card in a Facebook group by Sayerah Deasey and decided to try to recreate it.

I was initially drawn to the circle of DSP, but then realised it was actually a circle cut into the Basic White layer.

And then I realised that Basic White layer had a monochrome pattern on it, so I looked for a way to replicate that effect.

As I showed in the video, I first tried some Clear Wink Of Stella colouring medium in a spritzer with rubbing alcohol, but it was too wet and didn’t work.

So I pulled out my now-retired Frost White Shimmer Paint and used that with some retired Decorative Masks, which worked a treat!

I like this simple use of the DSP flowers…which allowed me to sneak in a piece of DSP that was a bit short on one of the cards!

As I said in the video, I’m about to hold my 3rd Product Playground session with the Hues of Happiness Suite…I encourage you to make the investment in this bright and cheerful collection of products. Click on the pictures below to go straight to my Online Store. In the list below I’m including the Decorative Masks that are currently available, as the ones I used are retired. I’m also listing the Shimmery White Embossing Paste as a substitute for the Frost White Shimmer Paint.
