Music From The Heart

Here are the cards I made during my Facebook Live video last week.  You can watch the replay on Facebook or on YouTube!

Have a stamp set or technique you’d like to see me demonstrate on my weekly video?  Just let me know and I’ll get it done!

This time I played a bit with the Music From The Heart set.  It was inspired by U.S. demonstrator Dawn Olchefske, a Million Sales Achiever.  One of the perks of reaching this milestone is working with a Stampin’ Up! concept artist to design a set.  I think it’s been a bit of a sleeper so far in the Mini Catalogue (p. 57), but it was part of my first order back in December.

This card came together really quickly thanks to the see-through photopolymer stamps in the set.  I used Real Red Glimmer hearts cut with the Detailed Hearts Die (left over from the Valentines I made in this post) to step up the notes.

Another seemingly simple card, though I struggled during the video to figure out stamp placement and colour choices.  I’m not sure what my issue was, LOL!  I originally thought to do this in bright rainbow colours, but decided to do a subtle rainbow instead:  Blushing Bride, Calypso Coral, So Saffron, Mint Macaron, Balmy Blue and Highland Heather.

If you watch my video you’ll see that this is actually my second attempt at stamping this card…the first I got the spacing wrong to fit everything in.  No worries – check back later this week to see what I did with that “rejected” piece!

One thing I’ve noticed lately is that the photopolymer stamps are taking ink from Stampin’ Write Markers much better than the earlier sets did…which is great if you want to stamp in more than one colour like I did with the sentiment on this one.

This card is my tribute to Billie Eilish, the 18-year-old musician who became the first woman to sweep the top 4 categories at the Grammys last week.  For those of you who didn’t see it, here’s a pic:

I love how the stamp set’s treble clef combines with the stylised guitar neck to make a complete instrument.  As I said on the video, I think I’ll see if it could be an upright bass for one of our animal images to play.

After I’d embossed the Granny Apple Green piece with the Subtle embossing folder I realised that the Stylish Scroll embossing folder might have better represented her Gucci pyjamas design.  Oh well.

Here’s what I used to make these cards:
