Nature’s Prints Embossed and Sanded Card

This is another card we made in my June Monthly Medley class.

As you may know by now, I love the colour blue. So the Sun Prints DSP was a total no-brainer for me to purchase as soon as I could.

There’s one sheet, however, that only has a design on a few of the edges, leaving a big expanse of lightly variegated dark blue tones. I decided to experiment with embossing a piece with the Fern 3D Embossing Folder, that is part of this Sun Prints suite.

When I removed the DSP from the embossing folder I noticed that the top layer of the paper had cracked a bit in places, exposing the white core. I liked the look, and decided to increase the effect by using my fine sanding block (purchased at a hardware store) to expose more of the white core on the embossed texture. Some have found emery boards or nail files work well, too.

Then I added some stamped and die-cut elements from the Nature’s prints bundle, along with some of the Natural Finish Ribbon that’s so easy to fray. Finally, a few Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots finish it off.

Here’s the supply list for this card…everything can be purchase in my Online Store.
