One Sheet Wonder

There is something about a One Sheet Wonder set of cards that appeals so much to me.  I think it’s the clever use of a sheet of card stock and the cohesiveness of the same pattern used in each card without them being exact duplicates.

What is a One Sheet Wonder?  It’s when we stamp on one sheet of neutral card stock and then cut it up into different shapes to use on card bases.  I CASE’d Michelle Last‘s template and colors, though I used different stamps and die cuts.  Here’s the sheet I stamped:

And here’s my adaptation of Michelle’s template (she’s in the UK and made hers using A4 paper and working in centimeters).  The only correction I’d make is to cut the largest rectangle (top, right corner) at 4 ⅛” x 5 ⅜”, for a rectangle that covers almost the entire card front.

And here are the 7 cards I made with it:

The only bits I didn’t use were one of the 2.75″ x 1″ strips and the ⅛” edges around the largest rectangle.  If you wanted to use it all you could keep the largest rectangle exactly 4.25″ x 5.5″, and turn the card that uses the 3 small strips to a horizontal orientation and use all 4 strips.

While Michelle used the Blooms & Wishes stamp set for her stamped flowers, I used a couple that I already owned:  Flower Patch and Love & Affection.  She also featured the Sunshine Sayings stamps and coordinating Sunshine Wishes Thinlits set, while used a variety of sentiments and dies that I owned already..  Again, this is something I love about this technique – it’s highly adaptable to products one already has in their stash!  No coordinating washi tape?  Use ribbon, patterned paper or card stock instead!  Have a friend who loves blues and greens?  Use a different color combo!
