Playing with Pigment Sprinkles Part 4

A couple more projects from the Pigment Sprinkles class earlier this month:

Flooded Heat-Embossed Images:  This is another technique I recycled from my class using Brushos a few years ago.  In fact, I liked it so much I even used the same stamp image!  I did change up the orientation and eliminated the sentiment on this version.

To make this card I stamped the butterfly from the Beautiful Day stamp set onto Shimmery White card stock with Versamark ink, and then heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss Powder.  Then I pooled plain water onto the segments of the wings with an AquaPainter, trying to keep it all within the embossed lines.  Once an entire butterfly was wet, I sprinkled Daffodil Delight and Bermuda Bay Pigment Sprinkles over it (somehow there was a stray Melon Mambo Sprinkle or two, too), letting the water bloom and blend the colours. Once both butterflies had pigment, I added more water, blended with the AquaPainter, or added more sprinkles as I thought it needed.  Then I laid a couple of layers of paper towel over the sheet and blotted up the pooled water.  Finally, I used a spritzer to spray the entire page to activate stray Sprinkles.  I again was a bit heavy-handed with the spray, so I got a very watercolored piece of cardstock.  You can see the variation in the ones made by class attendees:
The blend of Bermuda Bay and Daffodil Delight came out pretty close in colour to Shaded Spruce, so that’s what we used for the card base.
