Post-holiday use of Holiday Catalog Products, pt. 2

I’m sharing some ideas for using Holiday Catalog products in non-holiday themed cards, to help you get more mileage from your investment.  Yesterday, I showed you this card.  Today I’m featuring this one:

Picture

The focal point of this card is the fabulous fireplace from Festive Fireplace and its coordinating Framelits.  The fireplace itself was stamped in Archival Basic Black on Whisper White and colored with a blender pen in two layers:  first very lightly with Calypso Coral, not covering all of the bricks completely.  Then again with a light layer of Cajun Craze, covering each entire brick.  The variation of the Calypso Coral gives the variation in the finished look.

The fire image was stamped and then colored with Stampin’ Write Markers:  Crumb Cake as a base on the logs and some shading with Soft Suede.  The flames were first filled in with Crushed Curry, then edged with Tangelo Twist.

The mantle was stamped in Archival Basic Black and cut using the windowsill die from the Hearth & Home Thinlits dies.  The cat was cut from Basic Black using the Festive Fireplace dies .

The mirror is a stamp from Sweetie Pie Frames*, one of the original photopolymer sets SU! sold online only when they were testing the product and its popularity.  I stamped the frame on Whisper White with Archival Basic Black ink, and then stamped the image again on the back of a scrap of Silver Foil card stock.  I hand cut the WW frame and the Silver foil mirror portion and glued them together.

The wall is made from a piece of English Garden Designer Series Paper, overlaid with a panel of Whisper White embossed with the Stripes embossing folder (retired).  The chair rail is cut from the top of the window frame in the Hearth & Home Thinlits, cut in half and glued along the seam.

*While this set and it’s companion, Sweetie Pie, which featured cute girl images, is out of stock, a similar set that features boys, Dear Heart, is still available while supplies last.  Check out the Photopolymer Stamps page and amongst the items in the catalogs you will find other stamp sets that are only available online while supplies last!
