Here’s a card I made the other evening while watching some episodes of “Versailles”. It’s an HBO production, so there’s a lot more nudity and sex than network TV, and is pretty compelling if you’re into history/period dramas/political intrigue.

I’d played around before with the Stitched Lace die (see this post) but had to work quite hard to get all the bits out.  Someone posted in their blog that when they ran it through their die cutting machine 7-8 times they brushed out easily.  I tried that, and found that many came right out, but a couple more passes with an additional thin layer (like a sheet of printer paper) made them all come out easily with the die brush.

Once I had the millions of bits out of my lace I trimmed one end with the edge die.  This step takes patience to line up…be careful not to place it too close to the pattern because it’s easy to cut off those lacy frills.

Gluing was actually easy, with dots of Multipurpose Glue added to the larger solid parts around each medallion in the lace.

The birds are stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black on a Stitched Nested Labels Die-cut piece, and coloured with Stampin’ Blends.  The sentiment is from Healing Hugs.  The Black Metallic Thread is retired, unfortunately, but the Silver or Rose would each look good on this.  I coloured the Rhinestone Basic Jewels with my Rococo Rose Dark Stampin’ Blend marker before adding them.
