Pride 2020 Blog Hop

Today I’m participating in a Pride 2020 Blog Hop hosted by Stefanie Pletscher.  This is a first for me, but it is an issue that is near and dear to my family, so when Stefanie posted the invitation I immediately put it on my blogging schedule.

Once again I’ve used the Many Layered Blossoms dies to make a pair of cards.  I began by sponging a rainbow of colours in a diagonal across a piece of Shimmery White Cardstock, and then cutting it out with the thicker die.  I used Glad Press N Seal to hold all the pieces in place and carefully lifted out the floral outline used on the left card.

I cut the thinner outline piece in Whisper White with Adhesive Sheet applied to the back.  Again, I used Press N Seal to keep the inner bits together while I removed the outline die-cut.

After heat embossing the sentiment and dry embossing the texture on the Basic Black Layer, I glued the rainbow die-cut to it and added the white one on top.  It’s adhered to a Whisper White Thick card base and I finished it with a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Next I dry embossed another piece of Basic Black with the same Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder and, after removing the Adhesive Sheet backing paper from all the white bitty inner flower pieces, I applied it to the black layer.

Then, on the remaining rainbow flower pieces still stuck on their sheet of Press N Seal I adhered snippets of Stampin’ Dimentionals and adhered them on top of the white pieces.  The embellishments I put in the centres of the flowers are retired, but are similar to the Elegant Faceted Gems, I believe.  The sentiment is from the Well Written Dies, and is the “bride” with the “b” cut off and a “p” from “happy” tacked on.

When I showed them to my daughter, she excitedly suggested that I do some more in other LGBTQ flag colours, which surprised me because I hadn’t been aware that there is an entire universe of such flags.  This is what she sent me, and I’m sharing it in case you didn’t know, either.

I think these will have to wait for another crafting session for me to tackle! But perhaps someone else on the hop has…check them out and see!
