Quantities of Peaceful Poppies

Last week on my Facebook Live video I showed you 2 ways I’ve used the Peaceful Poppies suite.  You can click on the links to watch my video replay on Facebook or YouTube.  I posted the first card design on my blog yesterday, which you can see here.

Today’s version has a bit more room for playing.  It is again inspired by cards ​Carol Haffner created and posted on Facebook, but with my own twists.  I did stay with the black and white and red all over theme, however.

Once again, preparing a supply of elements made it fun and easy to put these cards together.  To make the larger poppies and leaves I stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink and then used the large, etched splotch stamp to fill in the outlines, often overlapping to get even greater colour variation.  The leaves I did in both Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz, while the poppies are in Poppy Parade.  The tall poppies were coloured with Stampin’ Blends.

The black die-cut elements were made with a variety of dies in my stash – it’s fun to go through them with an eye towards using them in a new way.
