Today’s post is part of Kylie Bertucci’s Monthly International Blog Highlights “competition”. The 10 artists whose entries receive the most votes will participate in a blog hop later in the month. Please vote for me starting at 8:00 am AEDT on 3 December! While you’re there, check out the other great creations and vote for your other favourites.
I made this card to participate in the CASE-ing Tuesday Facebook Group’s weekly challenge #226. Here’s the Holiday Catalogue image that was the inspiration:
As you can see, I stayed pretty true to the inspiration card, replicating the autumnal tree and square layout. But I changed up the stamp sets, colours and sentiment to use what I own.
To make the tree I used an image from Rooted In Nature. I inked the entire image in Crushed Curry, then used a sponge dauber to dab Pumpkin Pie ink on sections of the foliage. I used the Early Espresso Stampin’ Write Marker to colour over the trunk.
The Soft Suede mat is stamped with the Birch background stamp inked in Soft Suede, and the whole thing is on a Crumb Cake card base. The twine behind the tree is some of the Nature’s Twine in Crumb Cake that I unravelled before swirling.
In my stash I found a now-retired Crumb Cake envelope, so I stamped the tree image again in Soft Suede:
Please do remember to vote for me!
