If you’ve been following me for any length of time, you know I love a sketch challenge. One of the ways I give myself a sketch challenge is to take a design and change up the products to make it again. That’s what I did during my Social Crafting on Zoom session this week. I took this card, which is CASE’d from p. 80 in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue…
And swapped out the Bloom Where You’re Planted Suite products for Tidings of Christmas Suite products:
The stars were super-fun to make…they are Gold Shimmer Vellum mounted on Foam Adhesive Sheets and cut out with the Christmas Trimmings Dies. The shimmer is much more subtle than either the Gold Foil Sheets or Gold Metallic Specialty Paper, let alone the Be Dazzling glimmer paper!
Using the Foam Adhesive Sheets prevents any adhesive from showing through the vellum, and is really the only way to pop up these fine-lined die cuts. Placing the stars off the edges of the Basic White rectangle give it a playful sense that they may be falling.
I enjoy the small touches of Evening Evergreen in the strip of cardstock and sentiment.
Do you have a favourite sketch that you like to return to again and again? I’d love to see your different versions! Feel free to email pictures to me, or post them on my Nancy’s Nifty Notes Facebook Group.
Here’s a list of supplies…please don’t wait to order for making your holiday cards or purchasing gifts…I’m sure you’ve heard about the global supply chain issues, which are affecting Stampin’ Up! as well. Clicking on a picture will take you to that product’s page in my Online Store.
