Split Card Techniques

Here are the cards I made on my Facebook Live video this week.  You can watch the video replay on YouTube or Facebook.

They were made using the Split Card technique that Jennifer McGuire shows so well on her video tutorial.  In brief, I took half a sheet of cardstock and marked the centre line, then placed die-cuts (the poppy cards) or stamped (the lighthouse cards) along that line.  Once the design was finished I cut it in half and had 2 card fronts.  

Here’s a look at my trial placement of the poppies:

The poppies on the black base was trimmed a bit in width to allow that strip of black to show, while the other was mounted full-size on a Whisper White Thick base.

The lighthouse card fronts were trimmed down to allow a mat between them and the card bases.

This is where you join in as part of a group of 5 customers to share In Color products one new colour at a time, for 5 continuous months, so you have the full colour collection by the end of the 5 months.
Each month, you will receive the following products in ONE of the 5 In Colors (you get a different colour each month – the colour is chosen by me, but you end up with all 5 colours).

  • Ink Refill – never have a dry pad and useful for so many techniques!
