This card features the Layered Stripes background stamp, just like the one I showed you yesterday, but I used a different technique for this one.
I used several Stampin’ Write Markers (the round, water-based ones…DO NOT USE STAMPIN’ BLENDS ON YOUR STAMPS) to colour directly on the red rubber stamp. Then I spritzed it with water, stamped it on a piece of Shimmery White cardstock.
Shimmery White is a great cardstock for this because it holds up to water more than Basic White, but isn’t as textured as the Fluid 100 Watercolor paper. I love the way the colours blend together a bit, and the softness of the lines from the bleeding of the ink.
I added the word “HELLO” with the brand-new Alphabet À La Mode Dies cut from Coastal Cabana mounted on Foam Adhesive Sheet. You can see how I laid everything out and it cut through the backing of the foam while staying intact until I was ready to use them, which is useful. You’ll also note there’s an extra “I” there…in case it was too difficult to align the letters and I gave up and just said “HI,” LOL.
I got my letters aligned really easily, actually, and then used a piece of Press ‘N Seal to pick them up, remove the backing paper and stick them down. Love this stuff!
And then the itty-bitty “FRIEND” right underneath. Once again I decided not to add embellishments, though a scattering of Iridescent Rhinestones or Opal Rounds could be nice.
