Stampin’ Up! Double Flap A4 Card

My friend, Nickie, made one of these cards during my November Social Crafting Session on Zoom.  They are another of those fun folds that look complicated, but with a few measurements they are really simple.  Nickie sent me a link to Cindy Brumbaugh‘s blog where she has the measurements, but it was for Letter-size cardstock.

I spent some time looking for measurements for A4 cardstock, but wound up figuring out my own.  I’ve put them down below for you to use…I hope you’ll share what you make with them either by email or on my Nancy’s Nifty Notes Facebook Page.

Some details:

  • I used a Blending Brush (coming in our new Jan-June Mini!) to add a hint of Rococo Rose ink to the two brown Designer Series Papers.  It’s very, very subtle, but helps them all work together.
  • The sentiment on the belly band is inked in Versamark, then Early Espresso ink before stamping on the Crumb Cake cardstock.  I then used Clear Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat set it to make a glossy sentiment.  I think it helps it “stand up to” the white embossed Medium Daisies next to it.
  • The belly band is the off-cut from making the card base, and wraps around from the back, so the seam is hidden under the sentiment label and daisies.  Next time I will probably make the belly band narrower.

After finishing this card I looked at my craft desk and marvelled at how I could see the whole creative process! I spy a first attempt at scoring, labels, sentiments and flowers tried and discarded, and tools that need to be put away.  Remarkably, I was able to get the measurements right in only 2 tries!

Here are those measurements, followed by the list of products I used.  You can click on any of those photos to go straight to my Online Store.
