Stampin’ Up! Scalloped Linen Ribbon Card

Another card we made in my March Monthly Medley Class is this one designed by Narelle Fasulo, a member of the Stampin’ Up! 2021 Artisan Design Team. I CASE’d her design wholesale – which is ok in the stamping world as long as credit is given.

I was immediately struck by how warm and cozy this card feels with all the ribbon on it. Also, a use for all this retiring ribbon in my drawer? Yes, please, LOL!

It really couldn’t be any simpler to make – just lay a strip of Tear & Tape across the top, right corner, then lay down the ribbon and snip it off, leaving ends trailing over the edge on both sides. Add another strip of Tear & Tape, and a different colour ribbon, etc., until the card front is covered. Then turn it over and trim the ribbons even with the card base with very sharp scissors.

Decorate as you wish and you’re finished! This one uses a sentiment from the Happy Thoughts stamp set, cut with one of the Tasteful Labels Dies and accented with a couple of leaf fronds from Pierced Blooms. Happily, all of these are going to continue into the new Annual Catalogue! (Have you requested your copy yet? If you’re in Australia and need a demonstrator just click on this link to request one from me.)

An Opal Round or three and voilà! I think this would be fun to try with other ribbons that come in multiple colours (or colour your own with Stampin’ Blends, Stampin’ Write Markers or Ink Refills).
