Here’s what I made during my Facebook Live session last week. As I said when I signed on, I had only the most basic thoughts about what I wanted to do, and how I could do it…so if you’d like to see the creative process in action, feel free to watch the replay either on
Facebook or
YouTube!
I wanted to use the stamp set, Vibrant Vases, which debuted in the 2019 Occasions Catalogue. It coordinates with the Vases Builder Punch, and is also a great companion to the Varied Vases stamp set. In the end I used images from both sets.
For the card on the left I stamped the vase outline images in Memento Black. In the video you can see how I set up a template for aligning the images with the punch, and then used that to set up the Stamparatus. I did the same for the vase colour “fill” stamps, but think in the end it may be faster and easier to just stamp them using regular blocks, especially if one is using multiple colours. You can see that the Coastal Cabana didn’t fully stamp on the middle vase, but I quite like the effect, so I didn’t go back and stamp again.
I punched out the vases and the tulip, but stamped all the stems and other flowers directly on the Whisper White panel. The left and right vases are adhered flat to the panel, and the centre vase and tulip are popped up on Mini Dimensionals. The ribbon is simply cut a bit longer than the width of the panel and wrapped around to the back and secured with sticky (Scotch) tape.
Next, I wanted to try something different with the Stamparatus, and so I pulled out some templates I purchased from
Tamra Davis.
These make it very easy to stamp wreaths or in a circle with images. As you can see in my video, it can take a bit of trial-and-error to pick out the right template for what you’re trying to achieve! But on my second go I did manage to get this pentagon-shaped design with one of the blossom stamps from Vibrant Vases.
I added a Night Of Navy mat and popped it up over another triangle of Night of Navy with a white-embossed sentiment and a bit of Gingham Ribbon. My viewers weighed in and decided that rhinestones were a good embellishment, though in the end it was about a 50-50 split with pearls. It’s fun to get input as I go!
Hope you like these cards, and that you’ll tune in for my next Facebook Live…every Wednesday morning at 10:00 am Australian Eastern Time (here’s a link to find out what time that is where you are).
Here’s what I used to make them:
