Waterfront Watercolor Painting

In yesterday’s post I showed you a card we created in my January class with the Waterfront stamp set.  Today’s card uses the same set, but in a slightly different way, to create another scene.  I CASE’d this from Linda Dalke, who has a great video tutorial on how she makes her scenes.  Mine is slightly different, in part because these things are just naturally variable, but also because I added some birds instead of a sentiment.

This card is stamped on Watercolor Paper, and I’ve used an AquaPainter to blend the ink and allow it to soak into the paper and even bleed a little bit.  It creates a softer, more watercolored/painted look than just stamping onto Whisper White Cardstock. 

I wanted to say a few words about CASE’ing: it stands for “Copy And Share Everything,” and is a very accepted practice in card making as long as credit is given to the original artist.  I do it quite often, especially when I’m learning a new technique or working with a stamp set for the first time or two, since it allows me to get a good feel for what I’m doing.  I hope you allow yourself to play around and learn from experts, too!
